Three students from the Skinners Academy in North London (from left to right, Tosin, Rachel and Mohammad) joined teenagers from several other schools to lay wreaths at the Memorial to the Innocents in the precinct of Westminster Abbey, on 20th November 2015. All those present were remembering the multitudes of children caught up in war, whether in past or present day conflict.
The wreath laying followed a short non-denominational service conducted by clergy from Westminster Abbey.
The event was organised by the Committee seeking to promote a UK National Children-in-War Memorial Day, spearheaded by Professor Martin Parsons who chairs the Committee.
This gathering has become an annual event and the next ceremony will take place on 20th November 2016. All members of the public are cordially invited.
